AFCEA provides a forum for military, government and industry communities to collaborate so that technology and strategy align with the needs of those who serve. We are a member-based, non-profit international organization that has helped members advance information technology, communications and electronics capabilities since 1946. Your AFCEA experience is tailored to your interests and your time. We have an AFCEA experience available specifically for you and your organization.

SCHOLARSHIPS

 

The Global Omaha Chapter awards a sizeable dollar amount in local scholarships each year. Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and participate in school and community activities. All college students (full and part-time) in the Eastern Nebraska or Western Iowa area pursuing college curriculum with emphasis in the science (hard), technology, engineering & math (STEM) areas are eligible.

 

WHAT WE OFFER

 

•Omaha Metropolitan Science and Engineering Fair:  Local middle and high school students are selected for outstanding science fair projects in subjects related to IT, communications, or engineering.

•VEX Robotics: Provides monetary awards for winners of the state and regional tournament typically held in February.

•IT Innovation Cup: Provides sponsorship for this annual software development competition pitting Nebraska and Iowa high schools to develop the most innovative, creative, and best IT-based solution given the current year’s problem requirements.

•Science Teaching Tools Award: This grant promotes effective science teaching by providing funds to purchase consumable supplies, equipment and other incidentals STEM in the classroom.
