Omaha Event: Candidate Forums at Big Mama’s, 5 April

Black Men United, in conjunction with Big Mama’s Kitchen and Catering, is hosting its 9th annual candidate forums Wednesdays during the month of April. Candidates for mayor and City Council districts 1, 2, and 3 are scheduled to speak, contingent on the outcome of the April 4 primary vote.

Come get to know your candidates and learn their positions on the issues. Forums run from noon-1:30 pm.

Omaha Musical Event: Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, 4-9 April

The true, inspiring story of how Carole King rose to a fabulous career as a singer/songwriter is told through the art of musical.

The Omaha musical includes her years writing with Gerry Goffin and her solo performing career.

Showtimes are 7:30 pm Tuesday-Thursday, 8 pm Friday 2 and 8 pm Saturday, 1:30 and 7 pm Sunday. Tickets $30 and up.

Omaha Event: The Mastersingers – Modern Troubadours, 2 April

Listen to the works of the greatest male songwriters of the 20th century as performed by the Mastersingers. The concert runs from 6 to 8 pm, and the cost is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and free for children under 12 for this Omaha event.

Omaha Event: The Weisenheimers 20th Anniversary Show, 1 April

It’s been 20 years since Omaha’s first improv troupe, the Weisenheimers performed. Now, the original cast has come back to join the current members in a night of imagination and hilarity. The laughs kick-off for this Omaha event at 8 pm; cost to attend is $20.
