Omaha Event: Tree-mendous Arbor Day Celebration, 28 April

Celebrate the holiday grown in Nebraska at Lauritzen Gardens with a variety of tree-themed educational activities. The first 100 households get a free tree seedling, and any child who dresses like a tree gets in free. Regular admission rates apply.

Omaha Event: Candidate Forums at Big Mama’s, 26 April

Black Men United, in conjunction with Big Mama’s Kitchen and Catering, is hosting its 9th annual candidate forums Wednesdays during the month of April.

Omaha candidates for mayor and City Council districts 1, 2, and 3 are scheduled to speak, contingent on the outcome of the April 4 primary vote.

Come get to know your candidates and learn their positions on the issues. Forums run from noon-1:30 pm.

Omaha Event: Whose Line? Live, 27 April

See “Whose Line” cast members Greg Proops, Jeff Davis, Ryan Stiles, and Joel Murray bring their mix of improv games, songs, and scenes to the Holland Center to make you laugh. The Omaha event starts at 7:30 pm; tickets start at $39.25.

Omaha Event: Nebraska Renaissance Faire, 29-30 April

Travel back in time to medieval Europe. Tour a bazaar of assorted crafts, enjoy food from various vendors and watch a variety of jugglers, singers and dancers all garbed in period clothing. The faire runs 11am-6pm, with tickets running $12 for adults and $5 for children 7 and up.

Omaha Event: Omaha Rollergirls Star Wars Night, 29 April

Two contests on the 29th with the Omaha AAA taking on the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls and the Omaha All-Stars battling a team to be announced. Hot dogs are $1; tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for kids 4-10, free for 3 and under. The game runs from 5-8 pm, with the first hour’s special guests the Central Garrison – 501st Legion.

One Oscar winner talks with another as director Payne interviews Julianne Moore about her career and her thoughts about the movies in general. The Omaha event runs from 7-11 pm, concluding with a party; admission prices vary.
