Omaha Event: Vibes Summer Concert Series at Village Pointe, 5 August

Spread your blanket or set up your folding chair and listen to one of several choice acts each week of the series. You can get a cold drink from the Brew Patio; outside alcohol is not permitted. Concerts run from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Omaha Event: Saturdays at Stinson Concert Series: Jimmy Buffett Tribute, 5 August

Continuing the series of Saturday night free concerts running from 7 – 10 pm. Bring chairs and blankets, an umbrella and coolers, but no glass, tents, or canopies. There’ll be food and drink vendors, as well as face-painting, balloon art, and playground equipment for the kids.

Omaha Event: Root Beer Float Day at the Durham Museum, 5 August

Enjoy a free 8 oz. root beer float at the soda fountain while learning the history of the fountain and the soda jerks who ran it during the museum’s days as a train station. Costs are $11 for adults, $8 for seniors 62 and older, $7 for children 3-12, free to children under 3. Hours are 10am-5pm.

Omaha Event: Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum Family Fun Carnival, 5 August

The carnival includes games, make-and-take activities, science demonstrations, a spacewalk, face painting and balloon animals. Hours for this Omaha event are 10 am-2 pm; cost is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors and active/retired military, and $6 for children 4-12.
