Omaha Event: Family Date Night – Superheroes, 3 November

Every first Friday of the winter months is Family Date Night at the Omaha Children’s Museum. This month’s theme is superheroes, with superhero-themed activities and other opportunities to play. Costumes encouraged! Hours are 5-8pm; cost is $12 for adults and kids, $11 for seniors, free to kids under 2 and members. (Family Date Night is included with regular museum admission.)

Omaha Concert: Thomas Rhett Live, 28 October-Rescheduled

Country singer Thomas Rhett brings his Home Team Tour to Omaha. The Home Team Tour, which also features Walker Hayes and Old Dominion, is one of Rolling Stone’s most anticipated tours of the year. The concert runs from 7:30-11pm, and tickets run from $27-$71.50.

Omaha Event: Holiday Lights Festival: Thanksgiving Lighting Ceremony, 23 November

Omaha’s traditional start to the holiday season continues downtown with a musical performance by the Omaha Children’s Chorus at 5:40 pm, the countdown to the lighting display at 6, followed by a performance by the Jingle Bell Brass, then the Making Spirits Bright concert at the Holland Center at 7.

Omaha Event: Village Pointe Holiday Lighting Ceremony, 24 November

Come out for the 14th annual holiday lighting ceremony at Village Pointe. The event starts with a family concert at 6pm, followed by free hot cider and cookies. At 7, the Santa Parade spotlights the arrival of old St. Nick, followed by the lighting ceremony and free carriage rides up to 10pm.

This Omaha event is a guided walk of 8-9 blocks of the one-time meatpacking/stockyards district, with focus on architecture, art and culture. The walk is from 11am-12:30pm; cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple.

Omaha Event: Monster Mash Run/Walk, 22 October

This Omaha event consists of three races: a 5K timed run/walk, a 1-mile untimed run/walk, and a 100-yard dash for kids ages 5-10. Vendors will be present on-site, and there will be face painting, balloon art and more. Costumes are encouraged, and there will be prizes for the best Halloween costumes. Hours are 9:30am-noon, and admission runs $10-$35.
