Omaha Event: Jane Austen’s 242nd Birthday Party Tea, 9 December

The Omaha Public Library invites you to the 14th annual Jane Austen Tea at the Main Library from 2-4pm. Light fare will be served, and Dr. Cheryl Kinney will speak on the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s death on July 17, 1817. The Bookworm will have holiday gifts and books available for purchase.
Parking at Omaha Park One on 15th and Douglas Streets will be validated for attendees. Attendees are also invited to bring their favorite teacups.

Omaha Event: Meet Santa at Hollywood Candy, 9 December

Bring the whole family to visit Santa at the North Pole from noon-4pm. Kids can share their wish lists with Santa (and take a picture with him too), enjoy crafts and activities in the Fairmont Dine, and sample housemade fudge. Don’t leave without enjoying a classic hot chocolate or specialty Santa Shake.

Omaha Event: Advent Lessons and Carols and St. Nicholas Event, 8 December

It’s two events in one: the choir presents a traditional Advent service for youth and adults in the cathedral, while young children get to attend a special St. Nicholas event. Both events run from 7-8:30pm.
