Felicia Webster has been called the “Mother of Spoken Word poetry in Omaha.” With the birthing of the first spoken word open mics in the 90s, she has created and co-created safe spaces that have given many poets, slam poets, def jam poets, wordsmiths, emcees, storytellers, local and national, platforms to share their souls. As an African American performance poet herself, she has graced mics in Omaha and across the country. Webster is not limited to the title poet as she also wears the hats of a business woman, mama, self-love coach, teaching artist, educator, radio and event host, and community activist. Her mission, as she so lovingly says, “is to offer healing through the power of the spoken word and connect others through the experience that the creative arts manifests.”

Event sound courtesy of Kethro, Recording Engineer, Producer, and DJ based out of Make Believe Studios in Omaha. Kethro has opened for acts such as Beck, Wyclef Jean, The Faint, Terrace Martin, Little Dragon, Derrick Adams, Dj Spinna, Peanut Butter Wolf, and many more.
