Omaha Event: Durham Museum Ethnic Holiday Festival, 2 December

Learn how the world celebrates this joyful time of year during the Ethnic Holiday Festival! More than 40 local cultural organizations, including the Scottish Society of America, the Omaha Lithuanian American Community, the Nebraska Chinese Culture Association, Santa Lucia Festival and African Cultural Connection, proudly display their crafts and traditional dress, while musicians and dancers perform throughout the evening. Hard-to-find ethnic foods and gifts will be available for purchase.

Event runs from 5 to 9 pm. Admission $11 for adults, $8 for ages 12 and older and seniors, $7 for ages 3-12.

Omaha Event: Christmas at the Cathedral, St. Cecelia’s Cathedral, 2 December

Downtown Omaha’s premier holiday event, the Omaha Holiday Lights Festival, kicks off Thanksgiving evening, 24 November, with the lighting of the Gene Leahy Mall. It continues through the month of December with Sounds of the Season, the ConAgra Foods Ice Skating Rink, the Wells Fargo Family Festival and the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular.

Omaha Event: The Jungle Book – 4-13 November

Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book comes to life for two weekends, Friday through Sunday, 4-6 and 11-13 November. See rambunctious feral-child Mowgli, Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther and the other denizens of the jungle in a fast-paced show. Omaha Event: A Haunting at Hogwart’s at the Omaha Children’s Museum

It’s an adult party at the Omaha Children’s Museum with a Harry Potter twist. Show off your trivia knowledge of all things Potter or enjoy a “Potions Class” science show.
