Learn how the world celebrates this joyful time of year during the Ethnic Holiday Festival! Downtown Omaha’s premier holiday event, the Omaha Holiday Lights Festival, kicks off Thanksgiving evening, 24 November, with the lighting of the Gene Leahy Mall. It continues through the month of December with Sounds of the Season, the ConAgra Foods Ice Skating Rink, the Wells Fargo Family Festival and the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular.
Meet writer-director Kelly Reichardt at this Omaha event for the screening of Reichardt’s movie Certain Women. The event runs from 7 to 10 pm; Reichardt will answer audience questions after the screening. Cost is $4.50-$9.

Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book comes to life for two weekends, Friday through Sunday, 4-6 and 11-13 November. See rambunctious feral-child Mowgli, Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther and the other denizens of the jungle in a fast-paced show.
